Pastor Shea A. Stansbury is, first and foremost, a servant to the Body of Christ. Long before any title came his way, his heart was already set on serving, strengthening the Church, and being available wherever God had need of him: a posture of humility, faithfulness, and consistency that has defined his ministry from the beginning.

That posture was forged through years of quiet preparation. He graduated from theological seminary in June 2021, and in December 2022 was ordained an Elder by the late Bishop Richard Jerome Pender Sr., affirming the call of God upon his life. For eight years, he served as a national leader within the reformation of Beth-El Churches of Christ, while also giving himself locally as choir director and Sunday and Bible class teacher. Every assignment taught the same lesson: true Kingdom leadership begins with service and a willingness to work without seeking recognition.

In March 2026, Bishop Pender publicly announced Elder Stansbury as Assistant Pastor of Beth-El Temple. It felt, at the time, like another meaningful step forward; only in hindsight would it become clear God was preparing him for a season no one could have anticipated. When Bishop Pender’s sudden transition came in May 2026, Elder Stansbury stepped forward with humility and strength, carrying the congregation through grief and providing stability and spiritual leadership.

After a period of prayerful consideration, the Executive Board elected him to serve as Senior Pastor, fourth in succession at Beth-El Temple Church of Christ. His election is more than a new title; it is the fruit of years of preparation and a heart committed to the work long before the assignment was ever his.

Pastor Stansbury often identifies with the life of David, chosen by God and shaped by service, adversity, and faithfulness before elevation ever came. It is fitting, then, that one of the scriptures dearest to him is David’s own prayer in Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” That verse captures the posture he desires to keep before God: a clean heart, a right spirit, and a life surrendered to the One who called him.

His journey is a reminder that God often prepares His servants quietly before calling them to lead publicly. Years of faithful, unseen service became preparation for a moment neither he nor the congregation could have foreseen, and through transition, grief, and new responsibility, he has continued to answer God with a willing yes. As he embraces this next chapter, Pastor Stansbury remains committed to honoring the legacy upon which this ministry was built, while prayerfully leading Beth-El Temple into the future God has ordained. Above every title he carries, his desire is simply to be known as a servant of God, a servant to His people, and a man after God’s own heart.
